Ryan (00:02:17 - 00:02:20): Well, how come you’re allowed 6 pages of figures and I’m only allowed 6?

Ed (00:02:20 - 00:02:24): Because I can do what I want. I, I make the rules. I don’t have to follow them.

Ryan (00:02:40 - 00:02:45): So let’s just get all the G.I. Joes out of the way first here. Uh, the Red Dog and Taurus 2-pack showed up for me.

Ed (00:02:46 - 00:02:47): Oh crap, hell with you.

Ryan (00:02:47 - 00:02:49): Did yours not show up yet?

Ed (00:02:49 - 00:02:49): Not yet.

Ryan (00:02:49 - 00:02:53): Uh, Destro and his Despoiler showed up.

Ryan (00:03:04 - 00:03:11): Really. I have yet to see one, but I believe Brent saw one in the South End.

Ed (00:03:11 - 00:03:15): Well, at least it got up here. Uh, none of the others did, so yeah.

Ryan (00:03:17 - 00:03:21): Uh, retro-carded Crazy Legs. Retro-carded Zap.

Ed (00:03:21 - 00:03:22): Yes.

Ryan (00:03:22 - 00:03:33): And then just 2 days ago, Professor Rotclaw with the Dinonychus, the dinosaur.

Ed (00:03:33 - 00:03:33): Yeah.

Ryan (00:03:34 - 00:03:44): And the Ninja Force 2-pack Which was just part of Yojo June as an order. I did not know that it was coming out this soon.

Ed (00:03:44 - 00:03:45): Oh, the Scarlet and—

Ryan (00:03:45 - 00:04:06): Yeah, and T’Chaka or T’Chabang. It’s also the one that I didn’t pre-order that then I thought I pre-ordered. So when I showed up and then I didn’t have one, I was like, oh, I thought I pre-ordered this too. And then she’s like, nope, but I’ve got one. Do you want it? And I was like, Well, I had already convinced myself I pre-ordered it, so yes, why not?

Ed (00:04:06 - 00:04:15): That’s funny because I never even— I haven’t seen them around. I did see a Destro and a Despoiler. I hadn’t seen the Scarlet, and I like— it wasn’t even on my radar yet to look for them.

Ryan (00:04:15 - 00:04:26): No, I think if you look on— I almost feel like we got them early. I didn’t think it was supposed to be coming out until— I thought it was really late. No, I thought it was supposed to be early July.

Ed (00:04:26 - 00:04:27): I thought it was like an August delivery. Yeah.

Ryan (00:04:28 - 00:04:37): So I got that, and then the first figure from the latest wave showed up because you know how EB’s delivery system is weird sometimes. Yeah, I got Sundown.

Ed (00:04:37 - 00:04:38): Yes.

Ryan (00:04:38 - 00:05:07): Great looking figure. Yeah, I have my one complaint with it so far. It’s the only one I’ve opened so far of the new ones that I got. On the package they show him with, you know, holding the gun out, the revolver in the other hand, like at the back of it, as if he’s like working the, the hammer. Yeah, you can’t get his arms to set up like it does in the picture. Well, at least I couldn’t. Yeah, so those were my Joes I got.

Ed (00:05:07 - 00:05:07): Yep.

Ryan (00:05:07 - 00:05:09): I got a couple wrestling figures.

Ed (00:05:09 - 00:05:09): Yep.

Ryan (00:05:09 - 00:05:20): I picked up a WWE Main Event Ethan Page. Uh, he’s one of us, so I figured I’d like to pick up his figures. Now I’ve got 2 different Ethan Page figures.

Ed (00:05:20 - 00:05:20): Yep.

Ryan (00:05:22 - 00:05:33): And then I got, uh, thanks to Brent, we saw there was a— I think it was Ringside had a, had a sale, or maybe it was Jack’s. Might have been right from Jack’s actually, on AEW figures.

Ed (00:05:33 - 00:05:33): Yeah.

Ryan (00:05:33 - 00:05:41): On the American Long Weekend, we were watching the pay-per-view and we looked and we both picked up the AEW Supreme Will Ospreay.

Ed (00:05:41 - 00:05:42): Okay.

Ryan (00:05:42 - 00:06:08): On sale. And so we ordered— he got one, I got one, my brother got one. That way we were able to save on the shipping. splitting it, and he bought something else too. So I got those wrestling figures, and then an early candidate to make the list— probably will be on my end year of end list— I got my McFarlane Collector’s Edition Hellboy. So he’s got a big thumbs up beside his name on my list, and, um, it is a great figure.

Ed (00:06:08 - 00:06:11): Did I talk about my Hellboy last month?

Ryan (00:06:11 - 00:06:19): Last month, I don’t remember. I know you got yours before I did. I got mine, but I don’t know if it— I think it was after we recorded.

Ed (00:06:20 - 00:06:20): Is he—

Ryan (00:06:20 - 00:06:25): you’ll have to see on— find it on your list. If not, you got one too.

Ed (00:06:25 - 00:06:28): Oh, I did talk about it last month.

Ryan (00:06:28 - 00:06:29): Okay, well, there we go.

Ryan (00:06:35 - 00:06:41): I thought you loved it when you first got it. You thought you loved it. You told us it was the figure of the year candidate.

Ed (00:06:46 - 00:07:06): Yeah, I’m pretty sure I didn’t. I wouldn’t say something ridiculous like that, um, because I started looking at it later and it’s on the shelf beside my— see, the Creator Collection Spawn is one of my runner-ups. For Figure of the Year.

Ryan (00:07:06 - 00:07:07): Yep.

Ed (00:07:07 - 00:07:17): I looked at my Hellboy, and if it came down to it, I would take my movie Hellboys over that Hellboy any day of the week.

Ryan (00:07:17 - 00:07:18): Really?

Ed (00:07:18 - 00:07:30): That Hellboy is— now I’m looking at it because I took it out of the box. Yeah, I put them, I put them on my Hellboy shelf. Yeah, yeah, with my other Hellboys. Disappointment for what it was. Huh.

Ryan (00:07:31 - 00:07:31): Okay.

Ed (00:07:31 - 00:07:37): Like, if I look at the price, I would put it— that shouldn’t have been a— like, because I paid top dollar for it.

Ryan (00:07:37 - 00:07:38): How much did you pay for that one?

Ed (00:07:38 - 00:07:39): Like $80.

Ryan (00:07:39 - 00:07:42): Yeah, see, I didn’t pay that much for it.

Ed (00:07:42 - 00:07:43): Because I ordered it from McFarlane.

Ryan (00:07:43 - 00:07:44): Yeah.

Ed (00:07:44 - 00:07:49): Because it was sold out through eBay. So when it came down to it, like, to me it’s a $25 figure.

Ryan (00:07:49 - 00:07:49): Yeah.

Six Figures This Month: Ed’s Pickups

Ryan (00:07:53 - 00:07:54): Yeah, please.

Ed (00:07:54 - 00:07:58): Because I will tell you the one that kicked that Hellboy’s ass.

Ryan (00:07:58 - 00:07:59): Okay.

Ed (00:07:59 - 00:08:05): And that is the McFarlane Creator’s Collection Savage Dragon.

Ryan (00:08:05 - 00:08:24): Awesome. Now I have a question for you, just because remember you mentioned before when you got your Spawn, it came with McFarlane Collector Points or something that you could redeem online? Yep. Now was that something that came with it because it was a collector edition, whatever, Spawn, Or was it because you ordered through the McFarlane website?

Ed (00:08:24 - 00:08:30): Nope, uh, the Mc— that— my McFarlane Spawn I ordered through EB.

Ryan (00:08:30 - 00:08:30): Okay.

Ed (00:08:30 - 00:08:31): It was in the box.

Ryan (00:08:31 - 00:08:36): Because like the Hellboy Collector Edition didn’t have that.

Ed (00:08:36 - 00:08:42): No, um, no, but they gave me one because they put it in the box.

Ryan (00:08:42 - 00:08:45): Oh, so because you bought it from McFarlane.

Ed (00:08:45 - 00:08:59): So with the McFarlane, they put the, the, the The bonus points, they put a card in the carton that the action figure box came in. My Spawn, the card was in the package.

Ryan (00:08:59 - 00:09:03): Did your Savage Dragon have one?

Ed (00:09:03 - 00:09:05): Yes, but it won’t work.

Ryan (00:09:05 - 00:09:06): Really?

Ed (00:09:06 - 00:09:08): For some reason there was a problem with the code and it wouldn’t work. Okay.

Ryan (00:09:09 - 00:09:20): Now I wonder if that says— because obviously my Hellboy didn’t have that, but like I said, I paid a lot less for my Hellboy buying it in store And it was only like the regular price, like $30, $40.

Ed (00:09:20 - 00:09:36): Uh, if I regret buying it, but the Savage Dragon is awesome, like with the multiple heads, uh, the design of it. So like I’ve got him like with the regular Finn head, not with a— not with the mustache, and I’ve got him with the sunglasses on.

Ryan (00:09:36 - 00:09:36): Okay.

Ed (00:09:37 - 00:09:58): And he’s got his like 2 guns. It’s like, nope, it’s a great figure. The packaging was awesome. Um, it’s just like, yeah, you compare them because I liked the Hellboy. I was like, yeah, that’s pretty cool until I got Savage Dragon out. I’m like, oh yeah, I get hosed on the Hellboy. I, I, yeah, I regret now. It’s just I wish I just was like, nope, all right, I missed it on pre.

Ryan (00:09:59 - 00:10:02): Yeah, if you buy it, find it in store, you know. But it’s like, yeah.

Ed (00:10:02 - 00:10:26): Uh, if you compare the Creator’s Collection, the Spawn is number 1, Savage Dragon is number 2. And Hellboy, just whatever. Just, um, okay, so other McFarlanes I bought, because we are sort of at the end of McFarlane. Um, I picked up the— or I pre-ordered the, um, Azrael John Paul Valley Batman.

Ryan (00:10:26 - 00:10:27): Yep.

Ed (00:10:27 - 00:10:39): With— so that’s their Vault Collection, so now it has the proper coloring. I went back and I re-looked at the first one. It was like, I love that figure and I, I’m glad we got it.

Ryan (00:10:39 - 00:10:40): Yep.

Ed (00:10:40 - 00:10:50): Yeah, like the toothpaste color on it was not quite right. Here it’s like, yes, it is like right out of like— actually, we make the joke about 666.

Ryan (00:10:50 - 00:10:51): Yep.

Ed (00:10:51 - 00:11:03): Today, Detective Comics 666 is the issue that debuted Uh, that was the issue that debuted John Paul Valley.

Ryan (00:11:03 - 00:11:04): Okay.

Ed (00:11:04 - 00:11:04): As Batman.

Ryan (00:11:04 - 00:11:07): There you go, look at that. Um, it’s all lining up.

Ed (00:11:07 - 00:11:14): Hold on, now I say that, I have Detective Comics #666. It’s not when Batman broke his back.

Ryan (00:11:14 - 00:11:14): No.

Ed (00:11:14 - 00:11:20): So yeah, #666 is when I think at the very last panel it is.

Ryan (00:11:21 - 00:11:29): Um, yeah, because he was around before, like he was already a character in the universe. Before Batman’s back got broken, he just replaced Batman after that.

Ed (00:11:30 - 00:11:33): Yeah. Um, with—

Ryan (00:11:33 - 00:11:40): if you like that or interested in that whole Knightfall story, uh, shortly, sometime soon.

Ed (00:11:40 - 00:11:55): Yes. So Detective Comics #666 is John Paul Valley as Batman taking on Bane. And John Paul Valley, the first thing he did was upgrade the gauntlets.

Ryan (00:11:55 - 00:12:02): Is that the big, like the one with the cutaway cover? Where you see the Batman costume on the outside?

Ed (00:12:02 - 00:12:02): No.

Ryan (00:12:02 - 00:12:04): And then you open it up and it’s the—

Ed (00:12:04 - 00:12:04): No.

Ryan (00:12:04 - 00:12:05): Okay.

Ed (00:12:05 - 00:12:23): No. So he had a Kelly Jones cover. So he had these gauntlets made up that he could shoot these little Batarangs out of it. And by the end of that issue, He has the full Bat Armor.

Ryan (00:12:23 - 00:12:25): Oh, okay. So maybe—

Ed (00:12:25 - 00:13:15): So there we go. So it makes sense. We made jokes about this being episode 666. Well, it ties into that John Paul Valley. That figure is very high on my Batman list. I love JPV Batman. I’ve loved it since 1993 when I first— like, basically since that comic. So yeah, I absolutely— I, I love it. I love it so much. So that’s a great figure. I think that’s all I got for Masters. Um, let’s get into the GI Joe since you sort of went through it, so I can just, um, tack on there. So yes, I got my Classified Night Creeper with DireTech because, well, you got yours and I must have gotten—

Ryan (00:13:15 - 00:13:16): you must have gotten it.

Ed (00:13:16 - 00:13:56): I also picked up, uh, my pre-orders started coming in, so also my Professor Ratclaw with Diana, with the dinosaur. Um, I also had the pre-order for Destro with Despoiler, but I was, um, I was at EB Games and saw it. So essentially figures in hand trump figures on pre-order. So I bought it and also did the math up. Yes, I have no regrets ever on Hasbro Pulse, but with like right now I’ve got the 15% discount. With the 15% discount, it made it cheaper on that item to pick it up.

Ryan (00:13:56 - 00:14:00): Yeah, since you were there already, it’s not— you’re not spending extra gas to get there, you know.

Ed (00:14:00 - 00:14:14): I was there, they had it. So in a case like when it comes down to the regular figures, yeah, like it’s not worth my time to try to save a buck. Yeah, but on the big one it was $30 I saved, so it was worthwhile.

Ryan (00:14:14 - 00:14:14): It’s worth it.

Ed (00:14:15 - 00:14:22): Um, also pre-orders, I got the, the Sundown, he came in. Also the rest of that—

Ryan (00:14:22 - 00:14:23): Oh nice.

Ed (00:14:23 - 00:14:33): Order block, so Airtight, Overkill, and Hydro Viper. So they’re all here, as well as, uh, Dawn, Dawn Moreno. Oh, Snake Eyes.

Ed (00:14:34 - 00:14:58): I got her. So with her, she comes with 2 heads, so I’m gonna have her as the Snake Eyes Don. Yeah, um, I’m still working through my comics, so I still haven’t finished the end of the last series, um, that she was introduced on. Um, any other G.I. Joe on the list? I don’t see any. Uh, let’s get into some, some wrasslin’.

Ed (00:14:59 - 00:15:07): Um, I ordered some stuff from Ringside. Um, I ended up getting the Legion of Doom Hawk and Animal.

Ryan (00:15:08 - 00:15:12): Oh nice, that, that the, their exclusive set?

Ed (00:15:12 - 00:15:12): Yeah.

Ryan (00:15:32 - 00:15:51): because I just remember when Brent and I, when it first got announced, and Brent, Drew, and I all looked at it and thought about it, and it was just like, yeah, it was something like it was gonna be like $100 American to buy it, or a little over that Canadian, plus the shipping was what was going to kill it. It was almost the same, you know, to ship it. So that’s why we passed.

Ed (00:15:51 - 00:16:03): So no, I, I ordered it, and plus I did, um, With PayPal, you can split up your— I did future pay. Okay, so I just did 4 equal payments of $25.

Ryan (00:16:03 - 00:16:03): Nice.

Ryan (00:16:06 - 00:16:08): And, um, that’s a nice looking set.

Ed (00:16:08 - 00:16:13): It’s not Mattel, so it, it feels a little bit different, but it comes with the most double heads and stuff.

Ryan (00:16:14 - 00:16:15): It’s just like the same scale though.

Ed (00:16:16 - 00:16:23): Yeah, yeah, I’d say same scale. They’re, they’re a little bit taller than the rest of them, but I guess that you know, there’s Hawk and Animal. Could be—

Ryan (00:16:24 - 00:16:25): they were a little bit big boys.

Ed (00:16:25 - 00:16:30): Yeah, they were big guys. I remember meeting Joe Laurinaitis. Uh, I don’t think he was that much taller than me though.

Ryan (00:16:32 - 00:16:33): Um, well, you’re a big boy too. No.

Ed (00:16:35 - 00:16:39): Hey, I’m 50. I still, I still could get in the ring someday. Maybe someday I’ll become a wrestler.

Ryan (00:16:39 - 00:16:40): There you go.

Ed (00:16:40 - 00:16:45): Um, but I was watching A&E because they had the biography on them.

Ryan (00:16:45 - 00:16:46): Oh nice. Yep.

Ed (00:16:46 - 00:17:27): And I started thinking about it. It’s like I’ve been watching a a whole bunch of old, um, WCW stuff. And I was just like, yeah, I’ve had the Demolition. So I’m like, you know, got Demolition, maybe get, you know, get the Legion, get Legion of Doom. Um, and then speaking about that, you found Demolition Crush for me, and I was originally gonna pass on him because I’m like, I got Ax and Smash, and that’s who I remember from Demolition. But then I bought that WrestleFest Arcade and they took Bill Eadie out of the game and put Crush in instead of him because I guess they didn’t have the rights for him at the time when it came out.

Ryan (00:17:27 - 00:17:28): Yep.

Ed (00:17:28 - 00:17:32): You know, same like they took Andre out of the game, they took Macho out of the game.

Ryan (00:17:32 - 00:17:32): Yeah.

Ed (00:17:32 - 00:17:44): So I was like, but I’ve been watching a lot of old Coliseum video and saw some Crush matches, so I’m like, all right, yeah, you had them.

Ryan (00:17:44 - 00:17:47): Yeah, excuse me. The price wasn’t that bad on it.

Ed (00:17:47 - 00:18:00): Yeah, it wasn’t bad. Um, I was at— oh, I was at, um, Niagara Falls Comic-Con there this month. Yeah, June’s been a very long month.

Ryan (00:18:01 - 00:18:02): Yeah, I did a lot of stuff.

Ed (00:18:02 - 00:18:11): Um, I found a vendor there, they had the WWE Elite Series Mega Powers Miss Elizabeth.

Ryan (00:18:11 - 00:18:12): Oh, okay.

Ed (00:18:12 - 00:18:22): So the, the, uh, gold and red outfit. So I got her, and I found an Ultimate Maniacs Macho.

Ryan (00:18:22 - 00:18:22): Oh, nice.

Ed (00:18:22 - 00:18:41): So that’s— he’s got the cowboy hat on, and I guess that was that run where he tagged with the Ultimate Warrior. And then I was— another booth I was at they had the AEW big rubber guy Cody Rhodes.

Ryan (00:18:41 - 00:18:42): Okay.

Ed (00:18:42 - 00:18:44): Um, it was like dirt cheap.

Ryan (00:18:44 - 00:18:45): Yeah.

I know people hate Hulk Hogan, but I’m like, I love Hulk Hogan as a character. Taker, Bilea, whatever, don’t care.

Ed (00:22:58 - 00:23:21): Yeah, like, I wanted a really good Raya, and this is a really good Raya figure, um, and I wanted the Raya to look, you know, like how she does. Yeah, like Um, so I picked that up, and then I already picked up a Chyna, but then I got like really lucky because I found the whole, uh, Elite SummerSlam Series figures.

Ed (00:23:56 - 00:24:20): And, uh, yeah, so that was So he kind of goes, yeah, because I’ve got all the Jessies. I’ve got the, the Vault Collection or the Legends Collection Jesse. I’ve got the Saturday Night’s Main Event Jesse. And now I’ve got— so yeah, for like them not having Jesse the Body Ventura figures, now I got a crapload of them.

Ed (00:24:40 - 00:24:54): Well, and then the other big thing this month is Masters of the Universe, and a lot of figures were kind of tough to find, and then I got lucky and I found like all of them.

Ed (00:25:02 - 00:25:25): Like, I absolutely love it. I went to the Supergirl premiere on Tuesday, and I had a lot of people saying how much they loved Supergirl, and I’m like, it was good. It is not Masters. like Masters is like my movie of the summer.

Ed (00:25:25 - 00:25:52): I have had the playlist on repeat constantly on Spotify. Uh, it’s probably when I do my Spotify Wrapped at the end of the year, it’s going to be like, yeah, you love the song Eternia because I listen to it all the time. I actually found whatever record company I think is Lakeside Collect— like Lakeside Records or something. They actually have a playlist on YouTube where it is the full album.

Ed (00:27:11 - 00:27:54): And then I found the Masters of the Universe Masterverse vintage Teela. Um, so she’s the basically the Masterverse version of the original Teela, so she’s an awesome figure. Um, and then I did an order from uh, Mattel Creations because they had the Masters of the Universe Origins Hurricane Hordak and Despera on clearance. Okay, so I picked them up, and then I picked up the new Masters of the Universe Chronicles King Grayskull.

Ed (00:27:56 - 00:28:04): Oh yeah, yeah, like the Chronicles line is like— it destroys Masterverse. I thought Masterverse was great.

Ed (00:30:15 - 00:31:03): So Sam comes out and he’s standing in the hallway and I’m, I’m, I’m standing there and I’m like, hey Sam, how are you doing? He’s like, I’m good, how are you? I’m like, I’m good. And he said, you have a good weekend? He says, oh yeah, I always have a good weekend. Hey, uh, do you know where my handler is? No. Uh, who’s your handler? Well, his name’s Ian. Like, okay. He’s like, can you keep an eye out for him? I just need to go to the washroom. I’m like, okay. He said, yeah, could you watch my bag? Okay. So I’m watching Sam Jones’s luggage as he goes to the washroom, and I see a guy walk up and he kind of looks like looking around, and he’s holding a Flash Gordon poster. And I said, are you Ian? He says, yeah, why? And I said, Sam’s just in the washroom, he’ll be right back. Well, I happen to know who Ian was because he was also handling, uh, the vendor booths.

Yeah, like I do have some of the deep cuts when it comes down to comic book Like, like the ones I was buying had to be like, okay, so Emerald Twilight #49, like, like Hal Jordan, I had to have that. That’s one of my favorite comic books of all time. And so I had to have that one, you know, and same with the Joker and all that.

Ed (00:35:58 - 00:36:17): Yes. But everything else is all movie stuff. Yep. But I did pick up the Core Series Batman that’s been released by Mattel. I haven’t invested in the suit because I’ve got to get a pack first, and I thought I would order the pack on Pulse, which I ordered it and not realizing— I thought it was a complete pack. I didn’t realize they weren’t going to give you the proton wand. So the pack showed up still in a box.

Okay, so from McFarlane, there’s not really been anything announced that I found since we last recorded, but there’s been some possible leaked images, whether it’s real or it’s AI. So apparently it’s coming from an internal presentation of absolute Batman, absolute Superman, absolute Wonder Woman.

Ed (00:45:24 - 00:45:25): Yeah, I’ve seen those pictures.

Ryan (00:45:25 - 00:46:01): Yeah, uh, so I could, you know, it’s one of those— I don’t know if it’s something that they announced at San Diego and it’s out before the end of the year when they— before they lose the license. It’s like, because it’s like the absolute versions of some of these new characters seems to be right up McFarlane alley, like some of their big monster type, type guys, especially the way the redesigns of all the Batman villains are. And it’s like just in time for them to not have the license. Uh, it would be very interesting if we do get a— like, both these 3 Absolute figures, because I can see the McFarlane ones being pretty nice.

So they’re trying to get it unlocked of what this formula is, and so they end up creating this whole fake storyline, like, where Shipwreck believes he’s been— it’s been 10 years.

Ed (00:51:42 - 00:51:58): And yeah, and they, they are trying to, um, convince him of everything. And it’s just— yeah, it was a really, really, really good episode. So it’s like, no, it’s, it’s cool that they’re— it’s coming out with that series. Yeah.

It can, it can get towed by the, the Vamp.

Ed (01:02:22 - 01:02:46): Yeah, well, it’d be Adventure Team and then it became Action Force or whatever. Um, so yeah, Action Man was really popular in the UK. And then in the early 2000s, there was also like an act— or sorry, late ’90s, there was an Action Man TV show, like cartoon series. So the fact that they’re bringing back Action Man, I think, is a big deal. Um, yeah. So I’m—

Ed (01:10:16 - 01:10:29): Yes, uh, I’m excited for him. Um, did they announce him during that final Yojo June, or did that come out like the next day? Because I didn’t—

Ryan (01:15:21 - 01:15:31): Um, so yeah, so that’s cool. And then they also have a new line called, uh, Larry Hama’s Fury Force, which was The original name for G.I.

Ed (01:15:33 - 01:15:46): Yes. So the original name— Larry Hama came up with a comic book called Fury Force, and it was supposed to be Nick Fury with a team of special, special operatives.

Ed (01:15:46 - 01:16:19): And then when Hasbro was bringing back G.I. Joe, their idea was Look, we need to promote this, so let’s do a comic book. So when they went to Marvel and talked to Jim Shooter, Shooter ended up giving the, the comic book series to Larry Hama. So he just took the idea for Fury Force and just turned it into G.I. Joe.

Uh, they had a really cool looking, uh, I want to say rubber dinghy, but it’s not a rubber dinghy, but like, you know, the military-grade boat.

It comes with water that you can put around the boat so it looks like it’s in the water, and it’s also made that it will float with and hold— it’ll hold like 6 figures and it will float, so you can play with it in the bathtub. And the price point on it looked pretty good. It’s very tempting. I have enough diving guys that it would make a nice little display. But the thing that really caught my eye in their presentation is they are doing a 6-inch scale, uh, World War II version of The Rocketeer.

Jada, Masters of the Universe, and Ghostbusters Exclusives

Ryan (01:18:23 - 01:18:43): Yeah, who doesn’t? The Rocketeer is awesome. Uh, so we’ve got some Jada Toys San Diego Comic-Con exclusives announced. Uh, we’re getting a battle-damaged Invincible. Which is interesting because they haven’t even put pre-orders out for their Invincible first wave yet.

Ryan (01:18:43 - 01:18:57): Uh, so you get battle-damaged Invincible and it comes with a battle-damaged head for Conquest, which is another one that’s in that first wave. So I guess if you buy the Conquest, then you can swap out and give them like a battle-damaged head.

Ryan (01:18:57 - 01:19:06): And for their Ultra Street Fighter 2 figures which the ones you said you bought some Street Fighter, were they the Jada ones?

So every figure from that, that line that they’ve done is getting a, a new head with the look of if you lost. So there’s a bunch of hands and some other unique extras to give your characters so you can have them as if they lost their fight.

And then from the New Jedi Order comics and book series, we’re getting a 2-pack of Jaina and Jacen Solo. Now we’ve gotten Jaina before in a black fighter pilot suit. Now she’s in like your standard orange X-wing pilot suit.

Ryan (01:30:25 - 01:30:34): Kind of want this because I wanted Jacen. But it’s— I have a hard time pre-ordering Star Wars figures right now for the price point that they come at.

Ed (01:31:25 - 01:31:30): Yep. Uh, the packaging looks awesome. It’s San Diego Comic-Con exclusive.

Ed (01:31:30 - 01:31:44): Um, I would love to have the Roddy Piper. I really don’t need a Captain Lou Albano or a Cyndi Lauper action figure. So, um, I saw a video of her with the figure.

Ed (01:31:45 - 01:31:49): And then it’s like, I don’t know if it’s real anymore. It could have been AI. I don’t know.

They signed her to a deal and stuff because I guess it sounds like there were some hard feelings, hurt feelings. Well, yeah, some harsh feelings between them all.

Ryan (01:32:29 - 01:32:35): Makes me wonder why they— I guess maybe why they aren’t using the same names. Must be some copyright issue or something.

Um, this time he was talking about, uh, a letter that they received from, from Hasbro. where it was talking about how there’s going to be a line-wide price increase.

Ryan (01:35:26 - 01:36:11): And so that— I noticed that this week with the pre-orders for the September or October releases from this, from Yojo June, the EB price point on them is going up from $36.99 to $42.99, so up $6. Now I figured, okay, for this wave, fine, I will get it because I still have my Onyx discount. So I get 15% off. That’s going away most likely in November when they’re supposed to be rolling out whatever the new customer appreciation thing is, which they haven’t said what that is or if there’s gonna be any discounts or how that’s all gonna work.

Ed (01:36:11 - 01:36:24): Or is everyone gonna have to start at the bottom again? Yeah, so like the only reason— well, yeah, we have like— we’ve got Onyx because my Ryan has bought 2 video game systems and that basically was like, oh, okay.

Ryan (01:36:24 - 01:37:02): Oh, and really, and really, it’s with the amount of stuff that we order and between you guys order, once you get on it, you just have to maintain it. And it’s not hard to maintain it if you’re pre-ordered. And I was— it was explained to me the point system, you do receive more points if you place a pre-order and then actually pick it up, like fulfill it, versus if you just like just buying stuff in store. So doing the whole pre-order process and then buying it and all that, you do get extra points for that. So, but between the stuff that I order for myself and my brother and then anybody else, you know, that I, you know, yeah, that uses mine, if they want, you know, they know what my number is, then, uh—

Ed (01:37:02 - 01:37:23): Well, it’s funny how we’ve had the Because I remember the price increase when it went from— because that was the beginning of COVID when it was like, it went from $19.99 to $24.99 for figures. And then like, um, no, sorry, that was before.

Ryan (01:37:23 - 01:37:28): That’s before COVID It went from like $24.99 to like in the $30 range.

Ed (01:37:28 - 01:37:34): You know, like now it’s been sort of like at retail, the The figures have been creeping between $35 to $39.

Ed (01:37:35 - 01:37:41): If you look at the whole Toys R Us thing where they were starting to ask $44 for figures.

Ed (01:38:03 - 01:38:25): Like, uh, Pulse has been pretty consistent that it’s about $40. It’s just over $40 Canadian by the time I get a figure shipped here. Like, you pay $70— I pay $70 a year for Pulse Premium and then get free shipping. So it works out in my opinion.

Ryan (01:38:25 - 01:38:30): Well, especially since they added the way that they are sending it to you now, so you’re not getting tariffs on it.

So I thought that was interesting. And then on top of that, there was also like the Pulse.

Ed (01:39:38 - 01:39:46): You know, like, you know, when you’re looking at a figure, yeah, we’ll sell you an action figure for $20. Yeah, or $25 when it was starting to get a little bit more expensive with tariffs.

Ryan (01:39:46 - 01:40:08): It’s like, oh, okay, well, you know, you get a 7-inch deluxe figure for $25 versus a, a Star Wars figure for that $35.99 that comes with one blaster or a lightsaber, like no extra hands, which really you only need so many hands anyway for a lot of these figures. It’s not like we’re changing them out and playing with them.

Ed (01:40:08 - 01:40:14): And yeah, there’s a lot of the, you know, the Star Wars stuff is just like, yeah, not interested.

Ryan (01:40:15 - 01:40:22): Yeah, like, and I get it’s a licensed product for them, so there’s a bit, you know, a bigger price point because they got to pay for the licensing or whatever.

Ed (01:40:23 - 01:40:23): Fine.

Ryan (01:40:24 - 01:40:27): But when you get one like G.I. Joe or Transformers, it’s like, that’s your in-house brand.

Ed (01:40:28 - 01:40:28): Yeah.

Ryan (01:40:30 - 01:40:33): Now you’re just making more money to make more money.

Ed (01:40:33 - 01:40:49): Well, they’re also, you know, again, it’s also something— yeah, you can’t You can’t discount the, the G.I. Joe because it’s technically the same size as everything else. Oh, you got to keep it within the same market.

Ryan (01:40:50 - 01:40:50): I get it.

Ed (01:40:50 - 01:40:57): Transformers are way too— like, I don’t know, Transformers are way too expensive.

Ryan (01:40:57 - 01:40:59): Yeah, for what? Yeah, no. Yeah, that’s a whole other thing.

Ed (01:40:59 - 01:41:19): I— well, and it’s funny too, I had, uh, Transformers Studio Series or the Transformers ‘86 movie Shockwave on pre-order with Pulse. I was in Walmart, um, yesterday. I found them for $6 less.

Ryan (01:41:19 - 01:41:21): The same one? The Studio Series one?

Ed (01:41:21 - 01:41:21): Yep.

Ryan (01:41:21 - 01:41:21): Oh, nice.

Ed (01:41:21 - 01:41:46): Yep. I can’t— I can’t cancel my pre-order, so I have a feeling that— I don’t remember seeing it saying it was paid and shipped, but It was paid and ready to be shipped. It might be, it might be shipped soon. So I don’t know, I was like, oh well, I guess I’ll, I guess I’ll find out if it shows up. Yeah. So anyways, that’s enough of us complaining about how much money that we’re spending on toys.
